Ok so here it goes.. going to put a few words down to see if this works :)

Sorry its taken a while Cara ;)

So my experience of VCE Dance Exams was one that pushed me to boundaries that i had never experienced before, as i have had no intense training of any sort... but overall i learnt so much about the process of choreographing a dance and Dance in general.

Some things that i would have done better would have been to have practiced my solos so much more. just to clarify it in my head so that i knew that the pressure and nerves of the actual day wouldnt affect the choreography at all. im sure you all know this though..

throughout the choreography process i found that taking inspiration from the most random things would be most helpful. thinking outside of the box actually helps. and communicating it through your body is the part where you get to be most creative, so dont be shy to look a little stupid at times.

as my expressive intention was 'washing machine', i remember i sat infront of the washing machine and observed it (yes thats how much time i had :P ) but the repetition of the motions inspired me to use repetition and circular floor patterns. also the idea of dirty clothes directed me to use heavy, angular gestures. dont forget to use your facial expressions too!

i think on the actual day, i enjoyed having Chloe there with me as she helped calm me down and made me feel as though it was just another practice that i was going to do. so having a good friend with you to keep you in the moment worked for me :)

anyway... i hope that helps a little tiny bit.. sorry Cara if im just kinda stating the obvious :P was kinda a while ago so my memory aint so sharp.

now Denmark is calling me.. and so is my danish homework. so i best be off and i wish you all the best of luck for your exams :) remember to have fun! because thats what dance is supposed to be.

lots of love to Cara and the girls :D
